Otar Imerlishvili
Gracing everything from the covers of albums and books, collectible wines and commercial crafts, theater stages and the silver screen, the work of Georgian artist Otar Imerlishvili is as multivalent as it is unique. Born in Tbilisi, Imerlishvili draws inspiration from traditional Georgian culture and daily life to render ephemeral moments timeless through the lens of his distinct, contemporary style. Imerlishvili’s evocative mix of compassion and humor have earned his paintings the designation of cultural heritage material in Northern Ireland, permanent residency at The Georgian National Museum, and numerous exhibitions throughout Europe and Asia. In addition to his illustrious painting career, Imerlishvili has dedicated himself to the restoration of ancient cultural monuments, historic paintings, and landmarks such as the Tbilisi State Conservatory and the Tbilisi Opera Theatre.
