Alphonse Mucha
“La Nouvelle Femme” is an homage to Alphonse Mucha’s favored subject, the women of La Belle Époque, or “The New Woman”. Characterized by a break from Victorian-era gender norms that stripped women of their agency, strength, and independence, Mucha painted subjects that highlighted their confidence, power, and individualism.
The Art & Fable team has created this puzzle with images taken from the works of Leslie Carter (1908) and The Precious Stones series (1900).
